This is my idea of a resource teacher -- it's even better when teachers can differentiate the curriculum within the regular classroom settting with a team teaching approach. Rather than have a teacher for gifted students and others for special needs, the co-teacher would teach both ends of the spectrum within the classroom.

Put these kids together because they have a lot to share with each other. I might need to start a school...although Vienna/Fairfax is slowly coming to this same conclusion: Marshall Road and Thoreau making great changes. Just say no to sending kids off for segregated education when it's not warranted.
