What's So Bad About the Fairfax Schools Budget? Teacher Slam/That's What.

"Teachers would have larger classes, go without raises for the second year in a row, and have fewer opportunities for professional development. Dale also plans to cut a program that provides extended annual contracts so teachers have more time to develop leadership skills." The Washington Post, January 8, 2010, "Fairfax schools chief proposes spending cuts, bigger classes."

Pay the teachers well and provide a living wage. Ensure access to professional development.

As a parent, I can live without extra special programs but my child cannot live without extra special teachers.
